Mamiya C33 Professional is an interchangeable lens TLR camera manufactured by Mamiya and produced between 1965-69. Mamiya C series is a professional level of TLR medium format cameras. They have interchangeable lens system. This feature is on very few TLR cameras like Contaflex TLR and Koni-Omegaflex. Bellows focusing allows extreme close up photography, which is not easy with other TLRs. Auto cocking of the shutter feature, is existent only on the C33 and the C330 series cameras. The Mamiya C33 medium format TLR film camera with 105 mm lens belongs to the Mamiya C series that can create timeless medium format photographs. The Mamiya TLR is a great studio camera, but it can be used with a neck strap for handheld shots to compensate for its sturdy build and weight. Like all TLRs, the Mamiya C33 TLR is used at the waist, with the photographer looking down into a viewfinder to frame the shot. The C33 also allows for auto cocking of the shutter, a feature found on only a few of the C series Mamiya cameras. The bellows focusing on the Mamiya C33 TLR provides photographers with the ability for extreme close-up, another characteristic that separates the Mamiya C33 TLR from other TLR camera options. Like all C series, this Mamiya TLR camera uses an interchangeable lens system. This particular Mamiya C33 comes with a 105 mm lens but can be used with a wide range of other period and contemporary lenses as well. I bought my first Mamiya C Series medium format film camera in 1965. At that time the camera it was terribly expensive, around $ 400, together with a standard 80 mm black lens that turned out to be defective. The Mamiya C33 is a true beast of a camera.
