This entry was created for a topic at Forum Defesa, a military Forum @ www.forumdefesa.com, regarding images of the Portuguese Navy ships. This is NRP Cacine, a Patrol boat that named its class. Delivered to the Portuguese Navy on the 6th of May, 1969. Was built in Portugal for coastal and river patrols in the old African Portuguese colonies and it's still on duty.

NRP Cuanza is another of the Cacine Class patrol boats (the fifth of the ten built). It was delivered to Portuguese Navy on June, 4th 1970. These boats are usually the only Navy ships based at Madeira and carrie through dutyes like patrols, fishery fiscalization, SAR, and support to the Desert Islands and Selvagens Islands natural parks.

NRP D.Carlos I was built on USA by "Tacoma Boat Company", beeing launched in January, 30th 1989 with the name of "USNS AUDACIOUS". Later on came to Portugal and was transformed in a Oceanic research ship.

The NRP Orian is a Centauro class ship. Was delivered to Portuguese Navy in March, 21st 2001.

Was surprised to find this one around here. Acording to info from the Forum Defesa, it's a ISN boat (rescue in sea).

NRP Schultz Xavier is a marking ship. Was built in Alfeite and delivered to Portuguese Navy in July 1972. It's used also to support SAR missions, towing and naval exercices.
