To have saw the total eclipse I would have ventured 5.2 miles north east. I was ok with a 99.2% or so eclipse.

Cloud Cover
This was the view when the event first started happening . I was kinda bummed . Total cloud cover of my ..... Well If nothing else I was able to take this picture.
Then the clouds blew through and we were left with sunny weather. Next thought was hey dummy the clouds were acting as a diffuser that allowed me to use live view and take pictures leading up to the full or near full eclipse. I was fortunate enough to have a neighbor with a welding hood and he was kind enough to let me use it from time to time to view the sun.

Total or Near total Eclipse for me
The moon covered enough of the sun that I felt reasonably certain that my sensor would not be fried . I was able to get this shot before the moon started moving again . Overall while we did not have total darkness compared to Columbia or Charleston it was an experience I will remember for ages to come. I do thank you for spending a few moments with me on my journey.
