Day 38/100 Black and White.... With Color, Too.

If I do not get out and walk I find the pain level goes up. If I do not take a camera out then the stress level goes up . If the stress level goes up so does my pain level. So in a sense the camera can be or is therapy for me. Mental and an excuse for physical therapy . While out strolling I kept seeing these little blooms. I think they are a wild spring onion or maybe a wild garlic. Not 100% sure. I like the soft look to the flowers but they have sharp angles . This shot is about the lines and highlights.

This frame is about the pale pinks in the flowers . I have highlighted the pinks with one of the "modern" picture profiles in lightroom CC . It is a feature I am unsure about . Today I love it . Tonight I might hate it . It has its uses but I wish we could edit the profiles and tweak them just a tad for a more custom look . At minimum they would allow me to twiddle or fiddle with something that will not break and cause me to get into trouble .
There is also one other exercise for me in these two images. It involves the crop. As a rule I frame it the way I want or I frame it for a 8x10 or 1x1 crop maybe on occasions a 16:9 ratio. I will also frame with a crop in mind but I do not crop often . It is my hangup but today I wanted to play with a non standard crop . Why not I thought it will give me a new framing and it is also an image I am unlikely to print so the crop will not matter if it just lives on a screen. What is your thoughts and feeling on cropping .

For myself, the most wonderful things about flowers are their intoxicating fragrances and their beautiful colors!

I love the fragrances of most flowers. We have one in bloom right now that has not bloomed like it is this year. In small quantity it is lovely right now it is quite overpowering almost takes my breath away . Closest I know of for a personal reference is orange blossoms . In small amounts I love it when the whole orchard blooms it is overpowering to me .

Black and white works better IMHO. Great work with the dof too.

I love the shapes of the flowers in the black and white. It is angular and almost hard lines. The color I think softens that .

#2 - because this delicate flowers have such a nice pink and green shade and fragile structure - all of this vanishes in monochrome.
