We decided to head down to Florida to see my mom before the storm hit our area. The uncertainty of the tract it was taking was too much to ensure our safety. So we packed up some important stuff like clothes papers and of course the 2 cats and headed to I-95 south . It was a ghost town almost no traffic which was spooky. The cats told us all about what they thought of the carriers for the first 2 hours after that I think they accepted the carrier was their spot . I did not get out and do much if any real photography not because of the weather there (it was beautiful) but my body said slow down to an almost stop.
I did get a few shots of the Local Lizzards lol.
The iso was a bit higher than I would have liked but it was early in the am and these guys were weary of me .
Sunday we headed back to South Carolina and hopped it would be a quick and easy trip but we were planning on at least an extra 2 hours providing the side roads were clear . Traffic was moderate (mostly because we started earlier in the am) and when we exited the interstate the roads were clear . When we got to the area we live we were pleasantly surprised to find little to no visible damage only a few signs blown down and a bit of minor flooding . It did take the cats about 8 hours to decided that they would associate with us something else that I honestly expected to take much longer also .
Today Monday things here in the Charleston, SC area things are returning to normal schools are starting to open stores are starting to restock and the daily grind is resuming .
