Not So Lively Still Life ....

LED light camera left to add fill light .

Today I had an idea before I threw out the flowers in the vase on the kitchen table. They have seen better days but I wanted to let them dry out a bit and finish wilting . I had an idea in my mind . One that did not work out as I planned but none the less I did have fun play with the the camera until I had enough fun for the time being.

This was the flower that gave me the idea to give something a try and see if I could learn what might or might not work. Ironically to take this shot I had the camera on the kitchen table and the lens was pointed up towards the ceiling and I used Canons tilty flippy screen (tech term :P ) to take the shot and dialed in the exposure to get it the way I wanted . I think I kind of like this shot a bit more than the shot I styled but time will tell as I need a few days to live with the shot.
Also while I am making some rolls (pepperoni ) for dinner I wanted to shoot something outside of food.
Tomorrow 6 Oct 2018 is World Photowalk day . I know I hope to be able to do a photowalk even if I am the only one tomorrow but I am unsure. Check out your area there maybe a hosted photowalk in your area. Either way I hope you have a great day or had a great day and a great weekend too.

I love the way the colors and textures change in flowers as they wilt and die .

Thank you . I like #1 there is something simple about it . This is something I am going to explore more in time.

Texture and colors of the flowers are beautiful. Good idea to use a ledlight. I am looking into some small lighting

I had a rebate for a camera shop . There was one around 40 usd on sale for the amount of the rebate. This is something I have looked into for ages and I decided to get one. Look for one with a diffuse on the front, is adjustable , and maybe has the ability to change white balance . Do be aware some of them do not advertise (in the big print) that they require a specialized battery .
