Day 63/365 Beside Me...

by Russell Smith March. 04, 2019 299 views

I am a B.C. or A.C. guy . Before coffee there is not life but after coffee there is life so in the morning beside me is a cup of coffee . Sometimes in the afternoon there is a cup also. It took me a bit to get this shot set up close to how I wanted it to be. One thing that helped me in the setup was using the Canon Connect app on my wifes Ipad .

Amazing photograph!
The steam rising from the cup just solidifies the story being told.

Very nice Russell!
That could be a print hanging in cafe, etc. (or my kitchen wall)
How did Canon Connect help you? I am unfamiliar with the app.

I have the 77d which has wireless and bluetooth on it . I am able to use the ipad to connect to the camera and it shows me live view (can change setting also but did not need here). This allows me to set the ipad next to the setup and look at the scene. Just saves me a bit of time by not running back and forth to the camera screen. Then once I started taking the photos I would view the images on the ipad to see what I needed to do different. This saved a bit of time because before this I would remove sd card and take to the computer.

Oh, so it's like having your camera tethered to your computer and controlling on the screen?
I never even thought to see if my cameras have apps for iphone, but they do have tethering, wireless and through usb, which is very useful in the studio, indeed!
Thanks for taking the time to respond!
Love the image Russell!

Most camera brands have some kind of app for this. The actually functionality and irritation factor vary from company to company. I would love to get a teather cable and captureone plus a laptop (convience) but right now I have Fine Scotch taste on a malt liquor budget hehe.

I love that Russell-"the actual functionality and irritation factor vary from company to company"
If you are ever in the market for a mac laptop- I recommend this seller:
https://www.ebay.com/sch/oceancloudmarketing/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=
refurbished macs LOADED with Adobe and Final Cut Pro for cheap!
I purchased a laptop for my grandkids, it went into kernel panic and they not only replaced the battery at their own expense (as thought that was issue-but it happened again) so they ended up Exchanging it & UPGRADING to a gorgeous desk top computer, which they UPGRADED AGAIN by putting a new 512GB SSD in, a NEW SCREEN, upgraded from duo core processor to a NEW i5 quad core processor, added additional RAM and a new keyboard and mouse at their own expense!
Anyway, the SOFTWARE is worth more than the price of computer, and then to find sellers who actually CARE and customer satisfaction means that much to them, is a RARITY these days!

I will keep this in mind Customer Service and Satisfaction is 2 things that mean more to me than almost anything else in retail. As far as laptop I am torn inbetween something like a mac air and a windows machine. I have a windows desktop right now and I had the origional mac classic way back when but ever since then I have used windows or Linux. Truthfully I wish some of the editing programs would be ported natively to Linux then I would dump my current OS. I am hoping the 2 in 1 or tablet with a keyboard keep progressing to the point I could just use that for tethering. I think within the next 3-5 years that maybe possible.

I agree about customer service and satisfaction!
When we actually FIND it, it's good to pass on to others!

Yes, who knows what will be possible in even 3 years!

There was steam coming off the cup but if I am to be honest I had to add some extra steam in photoshop.

Thank you. When I went to Mexico I had coffee made with Mexican Chocolate and cinnamon sticks. It was fantastic.
