A Side Project from my Main 365 Project.

I have a short side project that I am having fun with. It is a 31 day challenge. A friend of mine who was one of the first people to tell me this is a good shot but if you did this next time it will be a better shot and showed me what he was talking about. People in the group called him a variety of names for the "negative " comments. I had to speak up and say no you're wrong he gave me exactly what I asked for and wanted. Ever since then we talk and are facebook friends . Well a few days ago he was challenged to a 31 day challenge and in turn challenged me to participate . I told him I would but I am going to use my cell phone. I already had a dslr project going.

Why Cell Phone ? Honestly because it is a camera that I carry but rarely use. It has a manual mode and even shoot raw but I do not use it. Mainly because I do not understand how to use it best or I have not screwed up enough shots yet.

Day 3 Lunch and yes I cheated this was a dslr shot.

Day 3 Lunch... Yes I cheated on this one it was a dslr shot but then again I rarely eat lunch.

Day 4 Light...

Day 4 Light...

Day 4 Light.

Day 4 Light.

Day 4 I took this shot because when I went out for a walk with the film camera and was looking for something to snap a few frames of this caught my eye and then I thought it would be interesting to see differences in Digital and Film . I did run this one through NikAnalog effects and Lightroom the first two were processed in Snapseed a phone app I like. One day I will try LR Mobile but not today.
It may sound odd but so much about shooting with a phone is foreign to me I guess it will just take practice .
I finally found a local place to print the small cookbook now to talk with the boss later and see what she thinks Color photos are a bit over double what the cost of a black and white one would be so that might be the next decision. I also have a scanner coming this week that will allow me to scan film and slides so I am excited for that. Also a monitor calibrator and a film developing kit . I am looking forward to the film developing kit and scanner most because this is two things that I have wanted to do for a while now.

I find shooting with the phone challenging. Because of the small file sizes, I have to get it right.

I think one of the big issues that I have with it is the focal lenght is not one I am accustom to.

Enjoy the new challenges. I used to develop film many years ago and found it very satisfying to watch the end result revealed. So am I correct in assuming you will develop the negatives and then scan them to digital? Have fun!

You are correct about scanning them some of the better ones will be printed though probably inkjet or more modern print process. I do have a goal of taking one image that is worthy of a Platinum Palladium Print and having that printed. It is a process I love looking at the results of. I have only ever developed one roll of black and white and that was about 30 or so years ago.

I would 100% agree with you on the constructive comment. I am not sure if I will like film development but it is to me part of the adventure.
