Lake Wateree Day 2.... Lolo

Day two was a bit rough for seeing many birds the day started off hot then got humid shortly after the sun came up. Rather than chase birds and sweat to death I got a few shots of my wifes Aunts chicken named Lolo.

Lolo is about a year to a year and a half old and was suppose to be a hen. Suppose to is the key word of the sentence.

Lolol is a rooster and well will crow like one. He has made the top of the hen house his home for now I guess it gives him a good view of the land and any predators .

Lolo's angry bird impression.

One wild bird that I did see quite often around the house was Hummingbirds. I noticed right after sunrise one would land on a stick that was resting in a bush and soak up some sun. Like clockwork on this day it did the same thing. I learned from

One wild bird that I did see quite often around the house was Hummingbirds. I noticed right after sunrise one would land on a stick that was resting in a bush and soak up some sun. Like clockwork on this day it did the same thing. I learned about what their comfort zone was by watching how they reacted when I or someone else got close to the feeder. 50-60 yards was the comfort range for no change in behavior so that is where I stayed.

As a result of the 60 yard limit this shot is heavly cropped not quite to a 100% range but close. I did clone out a stick to the left of the bird other than that this is where the little guy stayed for about 25 min.

Lolo is generally a sweet bird unless you are too slow with the food and he will peck just hard enough to say hey speed this up.

:) Thank you . He is a character and it is a color pattern that I have not seen before. Also first rooster that has a smaller comb and no waddles to speak of .

Thank you I did not notice that and I am wondering how that happened. Hmm something to keep an eye on. I do know I shifted a photo up so I wonder if that is what caused it.
