This is just a yellow flower than caught my eye. It is in an area that is about 30min North of the city of Albuquerque .
Cactus is well something I am not too use to seeing unless they are a Prickly Pear so I decided to try and get a few different shots of them this is one of the ones that I liked better the others well we will call learning shots lol.
I think some of what I loved about this scene got lost in translation. I love the shadow and bit of highlights or light areas. Kind of almost graphic.
This was close to sunset and right before....
The moon rose over the mountain/hill.
Now onto Old Town Albuquerque . For this part of the day I used my Mom's Olympus EM-5 Mark 11. I have used it a bit prior to this but not for any length of time.
Honestly I love the colors that come from Olympus especially the blues. This is one of the churches in the Old Town Area.
New Mexico is the Chili Capitol of the I guess the world. They are decorations and in the food. This one I wanted to see how much latitude there would be with the highlights. I was pleasantly surprised because well it met and exceeded my expectations.
This one was more about lifting or raising the shadows and also cropping. I would say it is in the acceptable range for me. There is a bit of noise in the shadows but realistically it is no more and maybe less that my Canon 77d could do.
Honestly I think with Olympus or MFT cameras that it is better to shoot to the right side of the histogram and bringing things back down. Or overexposing just a tad bit (not blowing out the whites) and bringing back down in post.
This is outside of one of the many nic-nack stores in the Old Town Area. I just wanted to see what it would look like in black and white.
Honestly the more I use Olympus the more I like it. Yes it is not without its flaws or faults but all cameras have those (even PhaseOne cameras lol) .
I will have one more post from this trip my goal is to get that up by Tues. Honestly one thing that I just thought of that was amazing about this trip is well my normal every day camera is a Canon 77d which is an ASP-C camera but I got to use a Full Frame Mirrorless Canon camera and also a Micro-Four-Thirds body so I got to use 3 of the 4 basic sensor sizes.
Seeing as we are staying home this weekend and CHEEEEEERRRRR we have cool weather finally I am in need of some Nature and Shutter Therapy so well maybe the thing to do is a trip to the Park.
