I am out of practice for birds because I have been busy and lazy at the same time and not practiced. However, it was one of the most beautiful days of well the last 8 months. Cool but not cold, Breezy but not windy a cool mid 60s in the sun. In other words that day I was complaining about not having. It was that day. Perfect for a long sleeve shirt and wandering in the woods. Today was more about nature therapy and getting out to see what I could see.
Upon arriving at the park I was informed I just missed the Fox :( . Its ok because today was not my day for that shot. I did wander around the woods for about 2 hrs. mostly bird watching. I saw 24 species and 2 of those were new to me. I mentioned that it was a tough day for photography. Well out of 58 shots 56 of them went to the trash can. Of those 56 there were about 4 or 5 that were ID shots or shots that were good enough that I could see the important parts of the birds to use in Merlin app to id them or double check what I thought they might be.
This guy was hanging on the branch in hopes that if I was a predator that I would not see it. I had to chuckle because it stayed frozen for a good 5 min and when I turned my back it darted off.
This little guy well his species is Yellow Rumped Warbler was everywhere in large numbers but they were impossible to get a shot of because of their location and the position of the sun.
Tomorrow morning however I do plan on being back at the park in the morning to see what I can see and hopefully get a few shots that are much better than these two.
