Tale of Two Rolls....

I had a few leftover Apples that I did not want to go to waste. So I started looking for an Apple Cinnamon Bread to bake. It just sounded good to me and I stumbled across a recipe for Apple Cinnamon Rolls. I decided to give the recipe a whirl. I also opted for a maple glaze for this one.

The recipe is ok I mean it is good but I feel it can be better so I will sit on it for a while and ponder then redo the recipe and see how that comes out.

Well my wife despises apples the only thing she likes about them is the color and she has been craving Cinnamon Rolls so I decided to make some smaller rolls for her.

These I glazed with a Cinnamon Glaze and these were delicious. The ones I normally make are about as big as 3 of these put together so yes I consider this small hehe.

Fortunately yesterday we were spared the worst of the weather and considering where I use to live got hammered I feel quite fortunate. The weather yesterday was like a early June day .... Hot, Opressive Humidity and wind that was like a tropical storm. Today started off warm and breezy but the High Temp was prior to the sun rising and the temps are falling :) .

I am making pepperoni rolls today so depending on afternoon light I might take a few shots of that. Unfortunately I do not think nature therapy is in the forecast for this weekend but instead a trip back inland to Aiken to see Gmaw (my wifes grandmother) is in the cards so that is a great alternative. Unfortunately I fear her time left on this planet is short. Her health has been in decline for several months. While we all expect it and try to prepare for her passing it will not be an easy thing.

Fortunately my mom is doing good. She is still having weekly chemo 3 on 1 off. The lesson I have learned from her during this whole battle of hers is to never stop doing and learning. I.E. Never stop enjoying life. She is the only patient that the Dr. has who the dr has to schedule treatments around her schedule and not the drs lol. He attributes how well she is doing to the fact she has not picked up her ball and gone home. I will get to Fla to see her next weekend :) .

Also I have a friend who is a grumpier version of me (same birthday he is just a few years older) who was on my mind yesterday come to find out when we finally caught up with each other he was involved in a wreck. He is an OTR driver of a flatbed. So while it was bad it was also good because both parties walked away the vehicles well not so much. It was another reminder for me to take the time or make the time to reach out to friends and family because we never know when times up .

It looks like you have been put on this earth to torture me. smile  These look delicious, although I personally wouldn't use maple syrup, but then again to each his own. Speaking of, to each his own, I am once again surprised at your family. First the no linking of bacon....now the no liking of apples. Jeez Russell can your family become any more unique???😃
