Feels Like Decades....

by Russell Smith July. 29, 2020 225 views

I guess for this post it is fitting to post something similar to the last post for an image. I guess it just feels like a point that I can pick up with the blog again. Todays image/s are of a basic Country Style Sourdough that is sitting on my kitchen table cooling down as I write this.

I have missed looking at the blog and getting inspiration from every one here. I know there is a lot of posts for me to catch up on. Also now it seems I can type without having a cat get up on the desk and stand on the keyboard or infront of the screen. Something that would happen every post I went to write in March-May.

There is a lot to catch up on and well images there is a great backlog of images for me to post and I will get to that in time. Update on life.... Man life. I will start with Elephant in the room. My mom lost her battle with cancer last month well almost 2 months ago by now. Then three weeks later my cousin suddenly passed away. My moms sisters youngest.

On top of that and dealing with that, the virus and well the rest of life since march we have moved. I no longer live in the Low Country of SC. We are now (since first part of July) in Western Tennessee about 1/2 in between Nashville and Memphis. We are settling in and getting use to the area. There are still a few solutions that I working through to accommodate the houses layout but we love the house and the neighborhood. It is super quite and after a month I think I have found a few possible spots to do wildlife photography . Outside of my neighborhood. There is deer that feed not far from the house.

I also am doing a bit of cooking and baking plus other food related experiments like fermentation and drying . I am sure I will drag you along for some of those adventures too.

Thank you. Last week or two I have spent more time in the kitchen or researching for the kitchen than I have behind the camera.

Oh and thank you. My mom well it was no shock and we have been mentally prepping for it for a year or two but honestly  you can be ready but I know I was not ready or prepared. I dont know if that makes a lick of sense or not. My cousin on the other hand it was a shock to the system to get that news.

Oh much cooler. I will take 90f and 60% humidity any day of the summer vs 96f and 80-90+% humidity by 11 or noon.
