Tough Trip to Horns Bluff Refuge

I wanted to get out in nature this past weekend. Friday the weather was perfect. I mean perfect and well by the time I was able to get out there it was too late for my liking. Saturday is usually farmers market and grocery shopping day so that was out. Sunday it was. It was on the hot side of warm so I did not expect to see much. One thing that I have learned is by walking slow and not having a "normal" gait due to my back. Because of this it gives me a bit of an edge when it comes to wildlife. Before they get spooked they tend to be curious and wait a few extra moments to try to figure out if I am a threat (or in some cases a meal). Because of this I was able to get a fair shot of this Doe or female White Tail Deer. I have a goal to get a good shot of this species prior to the end of 2020.

This guy is a Juvenile Mockingbird . A Common species that I honestly overlook. Today I decided to try and grab a few decent shots of this character. I should have gotten a bit lower to the ground for this shot I could have gotten a bit better separation.

This guy I am not 100% sure of what it is other than a general Fly Catcher the species I have narrowed down to two possibilities. Until I can get a better ID shot I will just say it is in the Fly Catcher Family.

I have to get some bagels boiling and baking then I will try to catch up on some blog posts that I ahve missed in the last few days providing that PB will continue moving at a 1/2 decent rate.

# 9 is really eye pleasing because of the the framing. All in all very nice captures.
