5 April Horns Bluff Refuge...

This was my choice for the black and white shot of the day. I mainly went as a scouting trip. Prothonotary Warblers were on the to scout for list and there are a few in the area. Terrain is right for nesting and I will hopefully be going back soon to try and see if I can get any better shots than I currently have.

I also scouted to see what kind of reptile life I might find.

Box Turtle and a small Garder Snake is all that I found in that family so I was rather pleased.

All too often people are anti invasive species and as a rule I am too but this one is one that fills a nice little niche of being a pollinator that is beneficial and as a bonus it produces a delicious edible food that will not spoil if kept in a jar. Seal it in a jar and it will never spoil ever it may crystalize but not spoil.

One of the fields near the refuge. I bet this landscape was beautiful when it snowed.
