Music for life

Music for Life 2012 aims to raise awareness and perception of dementia in our society and for this we need more than ever, your commitment. We wear the Badge For Life to never forget dementia. People show their solidarity with Music For Life and wear the Badge For Life. The badges are from Saturday, December 8 available in all the newsagents in Flanders.

From 14 to 21 December twelve Music for Life-presenters from Studio Brussel present “The week to never forget dementia”. During that week, they play 2012 Songs For Life. Our memory, linked to music.

Music, and the memories that music evokes, remain the longest in our memories. Furthermore, music has comforting, refreshing and beneficial effects for people with dementia and their environment.

Therefore they ask us for our Song For Life, our beautiful memories, anecdotes and stories … linked to music.

My most significant “Song For Life”:
Only one song brought peace and comfort with Tonia, when she was a baby. Then I took her in my arms, or sat beside her crib and I softly hummed
This Song [].

What is your “Song For Life”?
(Share it with us, PLEASE)

(Today, 16th December, it is my 4th year here at photoblog)
Please, listen do this Song [].
(Thank you)

Congrats on 4 years! I have a fear of getting dementia..they are making some progress toward fighting it..Love your happy song :-) My mom used to sing "Oh What A Beautiful Morning" from the movie "Oklahoma"..I think of it often.

Congratulations on your 4 years, I have always enjoyed your posts! Dementia... so sad. Great song choice.... hmmmmm, I'm not sure I have one "for life" but this has been my favorite for many years now. When MY daughter was young I sang her "You are my sunshine"... not very original, I know! 8^)

very good project, but generally people try not to think about any disease connected with dementia.young believe that they will be for ever young. not true.

Dementia is such a cruel condition and this is a wonderful way to raise awareness.
My song for life would be 'Wonderful LIfe' by Black as it came on the radio as I was about to go into labour with my first child :)
Thanks for sharing :)

A brilliant intiative by the radio station and equally brilliant rendition photographically by you. The song is so wonderful too. My song for life is "O Danny Boy" An Irish song sung to me as a child by my Italian Grandmother... Oh how I loved her...
