A fungus challenge

When I bought it, the seller on ebay mentioned fungus. In a short YouTube reseach expedition (2 video's) I found out anyone can remove fungus from a Sowiet Union era lens. Hybris is my middle name and I was very lucky to still have a lens after removing the fungus.

The centre is decent sharp but the blur on the sides is swirly, and the background can get quite bubbly too.

Now I have to learn to get the best out of this 'Nightvision' Sowiet Army lens, called Helios Cyclop. The one with the weird bokeh, no aperturering (f2 only) and which I use with a adjustable macroring. That ring can give me macro and infinity without changing anything on my camera.

Wood anemone in windy conditions, I love these ghosts in het background.

I hadn't expected this lens to function so well. Evertytime I look at it I'm glad that I dared cleaning it.

Nice shots! Now I want to get one. How did you clean it?

Thanks, I watched two youtube video’s about cleaning a Helios 44. There I saw how the inside could look like. Bought the cleaningstuf (ammonia and alcohol) and a screwdriver. It is an easy lens, because there is no aperture-ring. But you still have to remember how to put everything back smile  It could be that I was lucky.
