A month's rain in one day

It poured with rain yesterday - apparently a month's worth of rain in 24 hours. In the early evening there was a break and I took my camera to try and capture the spectacle of the river that runs by my house, carrying all the water that had been dumped on the mountains, down to the sea. The pictures do it no justice - it was like standing by a railroad track as a train goes by at 90 miles an hour. The sound was trememdous, and huge rocks and boulders were being carried down making deep clunking sounds.

Wow, I heard about this pouring rain in England. A friend of mine arrived in Manchester that day and was wet to the bones.

So that is where al the rain went! : ) Our farm in Indiana is suffering from a severe drought, the crops desperately need rain.
I hope that excessive rain caused no damage for anyone.

From experience I know these photos don't do the situation justice. My parents lived close to the Brecon Beacons and had their home flooded when the small river alonside their home broke its banks. A dreadful experience as insurance is almost impossible after one payout.
