Hiraymah, Salmah Plateau, Oman.

There was a couple, a thousand feet below me, tending to their fig trees. How they managed to get down there was a mystery to me. An even bigger mystery would how they would get their bags of figs back up to where I was standing!

At first I didn't see anyone there but the noise of their chainsaw attracted my attention.

There was no road into the gully, only a small trail and it would have been 7 kms long at least. I doubt the figs would earn enough to make the effort worth it.

Amazing landscape..those beautiful greens accenting the harshness somehow. I really like #1 and 5. And I will never eat a fig again without thinking of #4 and these people and their hut.
I hope maybe they have a friend who can get them and their crop out by helicopter. : )
