Happy New Year belated ! Hope everyones New Year is starting on the best note! As my photography goals of 2018 is just to get back to shooting for fun and some creativity, some of the shooting from days 1-4 has been a little blase'. It's cold outside and outside chores have priority over all else.

Day 2 Shooting manual focus w/a 50mm lens. My eyes are older and hard to see when I have put focus where I want it. After a few tries, I got it.

Day 3 Nothing exciting today...Pizza was 50% off if you ordered online..so supper was easy. Got a lot of chores done though.

Day 4 Cold, cold, and cold! Our 26 year old Quarterhorse, Smoke munching on hay in the middle of the day while stalled.

Wind chills have been below zero today. It is cold and all our animals are inside the house or the barn. Our barn stays warm as it is insulated, and stalls are matted and kept fresh with pine shavings. Horses have plenty of hay and water and feed. I usually keep feed to half rations on days when they are in for long periods but ensure plenty of roughage, fresh water, and salt blocks. They will be plenty ready to be back in the pasture for a few hours, maybe by day after tomorrow.

Right now it is a lot of work to get an image a day but I will persevere. We have seven dogs(five are geriatric) two cats(old teenagers) and two older horses. Living on a farm is great in the warm spring or nice fall but hot summers and cold winters can make it tough to find time to go shoot, unless it is an assignment from a client. I have to find time to make that work.
