Aug. 31: Glory; Hydrangea Close-Up; Backlit; Agave Seed Pod; Seed Pod Silhouette

After dropping Patrick off this morning, I decided to go out taking pictures in the early morning light…as I have been kind of regularly in the last couple of weeks. Instead of going to the Agricultural Center, nice as it is, I went up to the old part of town (where I took pictures of that cute church). For some reason what caught my eye wasn't the cute stone architecture–it was the slightly-past-their-prime hydrangeas and a beautiful morning glory.

While I was there, I scoped out the light at that old cemetery, hoping to find something nice. As it turns out the cemetery doesn't get morning light, or afternoon light. It gets about 2 in the afternoon, high, stark light. Bummer. I went back in the afternoon and walked around though–every headstone tells a story and I want to explore that more at another time–but this afternoon, I got pictures of some awesome seed pods on what I think is an agave plant.

The morning glory shot is stunning!
The seed pods remind me of columbine, only "squattier".
I love wandering about old cemeteries. My sister has me watching for old Woodmen headstones now. Fascinating places!
A very nice set, Sara.
