This is at Dawes Arboretum, just outside Newark, Ohio. A kid jumped over to a small engineered island in a lake in the Japanese garden. Once on the island, he was sort of stuck - unable to get a running start like he had in order to get over there. By the time he gathered the courage to jump back, he had collected a small audience.
One of the older ladies in the background of these photos asked me on my way out of the area if I'd managed to get photos of him jumping. I showed them to her and her adult daughter. They both had a brief rant about how parents need to control their kids better, and behavior like that shouldn't be tolerated. A bit hypocritical considering they both look quite amused and indulgent in photos.
Anyway, I'm just learning to use my new camera properly (Nikon d7200) so I didn't manage to get these as sharp as I would have liked. But improving my skills is one of the reasons I've started a 365 project, so I'm okay with that. I'm just happy to have gotten some cool action shots on my first day of the project.

My Dad was born in Cincinnati. I have a cousin in Marysville. Good pictures!
Thanks! I have relatives in Marysville and the immediate area - small world! I haven't been over there in years, though...
