Day 131 - A Colorful Celebration

Earlier this year, I was excited to hear that one of my friends was getting married. I was even happier when I found out that I got to celebrate her pending nuptials at her bridal shower.

When I arrived at her future in-laws' house, I was greeted by two of her bridesmaids, which also happen to be friends of mine…and one being the twin sister of the bride-to-be. She was all decked out in Indian garb…which made me wish that I had known about it. I have a couple saris lying at home.

Well…it turns out that one of their family friends is from Pakistan…and not only did the twins dress in honor of her culture, but their friend also brought scarves for everyone. =) Never had I been showered with so many gifts at a bridal shower.

The photo above was taken during another instance of Pakistani tradition. It was the beginning of a henna ceremony in which the bride (dressed in red with her hair in an up do) paraded in while dancing.

It was a fun afternoon…I'm just sad I'll be out of town during her actual wedding. =(
