Early morning trip into Teton National Park. Morning started well before sunrise and a drive on snow packed roads. My goal was a sunrise shot of the famous Oxbow Bend with snow covered mountains. I made it to the entrance of the park only to find a line of tour buses waiting to pay the entrance fee. As I watched the clock, I kept thinking I was going to miss the best light of the day called the Golden Hour, which is light before sunrise. I finally made it past the pay station and hurried to the Oxbow Bend pull off only to see the mountains light up with reds and purples. I hurried to get the camera setup as the light faded. Kind of disappointed that I missed my shot. I started noticing the fog start to develop with the early morning light and the blue light. What started out as disappointment with missing the sunrise shot turned into amazing fog and blue light. The best pictures are always unplanned.
