The Linda Lea was a great old one-screen theater located at 251 S. Main St. in Los Angeles, CA. Its on an otherwise pretty dull block. In fact I think I accidentally discovered the block on the way home from the much more exciting Broadway stretch just a few blocks away. This theater was just mesmerizing to me. The plastic facade, the colors, the run down state of it all…. I just remember standing their thinking “this can't really exist in 2006!” Well it didn't for much longer. They pretty much gutted it to the side walls and rebuilt it. It now stands as a totally modern theater called the Downtown Independent. Taken in 2006. Please check out THIS VIDEO [youtube.com] of John Blair and The Trespassers recorded recently.. and yes, I am playing a PINK bass!
