Special visitor

Leucistic Blackbird

Back in December 2018, a special visitor appeared in our garden for a week or more and allowed me to photograph him.

He was quite beautiful but I was concerned about the other birds harassing him, or worse. he did get chased away quite often.

Leucism

As you'll see in the following shots, he has some wonderful markings and I tried to get as many decent shots as possible.

The great news is, he's still around.

I've seen him a few times now, collecting grubs etc. I'd like to assume he's found a mate and was breeding.

I don't think Leucism is genetic but, who knows?

Nice pictures.
I've seen leucitic blackbirds with white on their wings but never one with such interesting  patches on their faces.
