Living Like a Lord (or Lady) - At least on vacation in Ireland.....

I was delighted and amused to learn that it is possible to rent your very own castle for your vacation! Ok, I admit, we actually rented the Coach House, because one person in our group wasn't comfortable with old circular stone stairs, but both the castle and coach house were very cleverly and comfortably modernized, and charmingly furnished. This is Ballyhannon Castle and Coach House in Quin, County Clare, Ireland. They are self-catering accomodations, and make an awesome alternative to staying in a hotel.

I was fortunate enough to spend 16 days in May vacationing in Ireland, Scotand, and London, which are some of my favorite places in the world. Stay tuned for more vacation photos - you're warned! ;)

BTW - If you'd like to vacation in your very own castle, check out Ballyhannon Castle [ballyhannon-castle.com].

Right this way…

Your faithful subjects will greet you….

Come on in!

Now that's a castle! You'll be quite safe….

Now how's that for a security door!

This is the Coach House, where we stayed. It's just across the yard from the castle, which was the view from my bedroom window. Now that's my idea of a vacation! ;)

A wonderful set, particularly the door in no 8 - how did you get those cows to stand in line for you?!
