There was one good sunrise. This is Oxbow Bend. The color lasted about ten minutes before it all clouded over again.
Four days over the Memorial Day weekend in Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. It was the first weekend when all the roads were open after winter. Although it did snow a couple of times. This is my second trip to these parks and I am planning a third during the fall color later in the year.

Grand Teton

Schwabacher Landing just after all the photographers left. This is a boat landing on the Snake River.

Me. 90F when I left NC. 33F in Jackson.

Okay, two good sunrises. An old much photographed barn on Mormon Row. The story is a group of Mormons arrived in the 1890s and set up a community. Prior to that Jackson Hole residents tended to live in isolated homesteads.

The famous bar in Jackson. They have saddles with stirrups for barstools. I guess they prevent you falling over.

I went to check out the first rodeo of the season. I know it's part of the culture but it was hard to get passed the animal cruelty involved. They still got my $40.

This one had his revenge. 2.48 seconds.

Cowboy hats and hoodies.

Rhinestone jacket?

On to Yellowstone and a bison jam.

Let's all point this way.

Okay, we know these things can run at like 35mph right?

Grizzlies. A shot of Mama bear and two cubs taken from very, very far away. They were eating berries from the bushes.

Avis gave me a GMC Yukon, which I thought was ridiculously large until I parked it here.

Old Faithful. It was erupting every 75 minutes while I was there. I sat through three of them before I got a sky that was not the same color as the steam. That storm in the background dumped snow on us soon after this shot was taken.

Instagrammers. They totally coordinated those clothes.

Posting to Instagram. This is the lobby of Old Faithful Inn.

The front.

Another hour's drive to Mammoth Springs. This is what happens when you pour hot water over limestone.

Those hats come in pink too.

Tourists emerging from a sulfurous mist.

Yellowstone Canyon. The photograph hardly does justice to the depth.

For the 4:30am starts.

Research.
Love your shots.....love Wyoming. Was in the Tetons in January this winter and it was absolutely BEAUTIFUL.
Thanks Bill. I bet the place looks amazing in winter. It's on my list for a return visit.
