Travelling along the A303 frequently as I do, I keep hoping to get that one really special shot of Stonehenge on Salisbury Plain. However this time I can safely say I failed again! Too late for sunrise and too early for sunset, I took a couple of 'average' shots of the Neolithic monument and continued homewards . The first henge was built on this site about 5000 years ago, while this monument is believed to date back to about 2500 B.C. Another photo attempt will have to wait for another day....

From a distance to the west of the stones - looking eastwards.

closer and with less visitors in view   -by zoom lens

my favourite for this visit.
