Beatrix Potter Museum

Another series of photos from my trip to the Lake District. These, from the Far Sawry  writing home of Beatrix Potter. Although she married and spend a great deal of her life and efforts breeding Hardwick sheep, she kept her little cottage, for her life as an author, very separate. Here are a few photos from the cottage, now a museum and run by the National Trust. Many of the shots people can recognise as drawings in her stories of Peter Rabbit and friends.

The Bedroom

...and the view is still the same from the bedroom window as drawn in, I believe, The tale of Tom Kitten.

The original story of Peter Rabbit was in a letter to amuse a sick child!

...and another location (out of focus I'm afraid) from another story.

The garden where Peter Rabbit used his best wiles to outwit Mr McGregor!

Lovely photos - I'd like to go there myself one day.
