ORANGE, ORANGE, ORANGE

We skip back a colour to Orange.

Part of my idea to work through a spectrum of flower colours is that many peole believe that different colours have different healing and relaxing properties. So for flower lovers this means a double dose of making the world a better place.

The reason that I became a botanist is that as a child I observed that people who care for and appreciated flowers also cared for people and animals and were more concerned about the environment and the life it contains. A life time later I continue to feel this although inevitable there have been some exceptions.

I have another colour to add to the spectrum and that is black. That will be a challenge but I have some ideas.

Whoever asks first gets to choose the the next colour!

1. Gazania DAYBREAK

2. Haemanthus sp.

3. Hieracium aurantiacum

4. Cosmos sulpureus SUNNY RED

5. Tithonia FIESTA DE SOL

6. Arctotis fastuosa

7. Punica granatum POMEGRANATE

8. Lilium lancifolium

9. Cliviata miniata

10. Watsonia pillansii

11. Escholtzia californica

This whole set is amazing but #6 took my breath away! Something about the gray background reflected(unexpectedly)in the center of the flower… Amazing.

Well Visualcortex you have set me a challenge. I am to span the spectrum before I have even finished the pure part of the spectrum, but whom am I to duck a challenge. So pinky blue it will be tomorrow.
