[bSome water pictures from the Czech Lands

I have just returned from a holiday in the Czech Republic and will be posting photos from that trip over the next few weeks. While there I met up with fellow Czech Photoblogger Scientik who kindly took my family and I to see some fascinating historical caves and beautiful countryside.

I begin with a few water-related pictures taken at various places.

1. “The foolish are like ripples on water, For whatsoever they do is quickly effaced; But the righteous are like carvings upon stone, For their smallest act is durable.” Horace -Ancient Roman Poet. 65 BC-8 BC.

2. “Water is the only drink for a wise man.” Henry David Thoreau - American Essayist, Poet and Philosopher, 1817-1862.

3. “The Brahmins say that in their books there are many predictions of times in which it will rain. But press those books as strongly as you can, you can not get out of them a drop of water. So you can not get out of all the books that contain the best precepts the smallest good deed.” Leo Nikolaevich Tolstoy - Russian moral Thinker, Novelist and Philosopher, 1828-1910

4. “No poems can please for long or live that are written by water-drinkers.”
Horace - Ancient Roman Poet. 65 BC-8 BC.

5. “The evening advanced. The shadows lengthened. The waters of the lake grew pitchy black. The gliding of the ghostly swans became rare and more rare.” Wilkie Collins

6.“Being born in a duck yard does not matter, if only you are hatched from a swan's egg.” Hans Christian Andersen - Danish Author offairy tales, 1805-1875.

7. “I dream of wayward gulls and all landless lovers, rare moments of winter sun, peace, privacy, for everyone.”
William F. Claire
