To tree or not to tree - that is my question!

Exotic Grey Squirrels are in the news now that HRH Prince of Wales has supported their culling [guardian.co.uk]because of the damage they do to indigenous songbirds and trees. But they are so cute that those who do not know what little pests they are can only admire their agility, curiosity and persistence. They are the ultimate invader.

Poem
The Grey Squirrel [cs.rice.edu]

Like a small grey
coffee-pot,
sits the squirrel.
He is not

all he should be,
kills by dozens
trees, and eats
his red-brown cousins.

The keeper on the
other hand,
who shot him, is
a Christian, and

loves his enemies,
which shows
the squirrel was not
one of those.

Unfortuantely the greys are the intruders - the reds were always here. Their effects are somewhay similar to the minks released from mink farms into the countryside by animal rights activists.
