Matara's Vision

Matara [] is dedicated to the full expression of the human spirit centred on community and a deeper relationship with nature. We aspire to a world that lives within a smaller ecological footprint, where people are more caring, empathetic and more respectful, where social justice is the norm and equitable, and where our relationship with our environment is sustainable and economically prudent. We aspire to become an organisation that embraces the essence of well-being in everything that we do and one that is part of an international network dedicated to well-being and the transformation of the future of our planet and people.

Wellbeing exists when people experience good feelings and a sense of individual vitality that enables them to undertake activities which are meaningful, engaging, and which make them feel competent and autonomous, and which enables them to draw on a stock of inner resources to help them cope when things go wrong and be resilient to changes beyond their immediate control.
