Silent City: Covid-19 in Bath, Part 4

by Charles Stirton May. 17, 2020 142 views

Today I got up at 5.30 am and did a 2 hour walk across Bath and apart from an empty bus, two refuse lorries and one car saw no one. Seems Sunday is still a sleep in day regardless of Covid-19. Here are a few more pictures of the empty streets. The silence was almost overwhelming. I was not aware before of just how many shops have disappeared and have To Let signs in their windows, A friend from Cheletenham told me that it is the same there. Just what will our cityscapes look like in a few years time? For now its birds and the architecture.

#1Up so early it must’ve been a very nice walk. A little creepy with no people about or dog walkers.  I live in New Jersey and we are still in lockdown but there’s always a little traffic in daylight hours. Almost none overnight. Thank you for sharing your photos I am enjoying them very much.

#9The hiccup in the line reminds us humans drew it. I like it.

Glad you are enjoying them. I first saw it as a 7 and thought it pointed to the number of short lines ahead of it but sadly there are just more than 7 of them but not if one squints!
