Getting Started: Park Life

2nd Attempt/Session with dSLR.

I've a feeling I've found my favourite subject. Still struggling to get the sharp images I'm looking for though.

PROJECT:
Take a newbie (me) that has no idea how to take photographs. Next, grab an entry level Nikon d3100 with 18-55VR stock lens and set both to full manual. Then, try to take photographs and have the end result resemble what was in my mind when I clicked the button.

Speed demon…

Free runner..!

Sitting pretty…

Focus…

Rock chick…!

Nicely Captured. Her expression coming down the slide is excellent timing.
The one thing that I can tell you about your project is to accept information about your photography but do not allow it to change what you like. To each photographer there is a "perfect shot" and that perfection may not be seen by anyone else.
There are those who think Picasso was a great artist; there are also those who think he was a nut!. He believed he was an artist.
Take photographs for you, if it is not exactly what you see within your minds eye~find a good editing program (there are some nice free ones to start with) and work with them a little. Nothing has to change much sometimes to get that "perfect shot", sometimes a little enhancement or cropping does the trick.
Remember, it is your photography, keep it fun and enjoy yourself.

By the way, if you reply to a comment, best to use the reply button as people rarely go back to a post they have commented on. And have a look in your Guestbook (menu top right, little downward pointing arrow leads to Guestbook) where you will find replies to your comments.

Shane, thanks for the friend request.
If you are really a newbie, and are shooting Manual, you have got your head around the settings really well. I am not going to make any criticism at this stage, as these shots are excellent quality. She is a lovely subject. Prettier than those monkeys in the zoo!
