Trees by a creek

This was taken at one of the most awkward campsite on my cycling trip to Darwin. I pitched my tent amongst long grass because there was no clearing. The water in the creek was hardly flowing and there was a scum on the surface and algae growing. There was just trickle enough for me to believe that the water was safe for drinking. I made my kitchen on a tiny patch of dry stones in the creek bed. I had to make my fire there instead of near my tent, so as not to start a bushfire. I wouldn't call it hardship. I enjoy the rigours of camping and awkward locations like this accentuate the ease of others.

I've learnt that people worry too much about snakes.

To me this looks like the sort of place where snakes might hang out, but you are braver than I am! Atmospheric shots.
