Mt. Shasta Gateway Peace Garden and Burney Falls (Mt. Shasta, CA)

The Mt. Shasta Gateway Peace Garden is a beautiful meditation garden that's open year round. I've never been to anything like this in all my travels and I'm so happy that I went. There are multiple sub gardens within the larger one. If you are someone who worships Quan Yin by all means please sit with her. But the Divine Mother is represented strongly as well as St. Francis. Please bring kind offerings of any form and if you wish you can write and hang a prayer flag. If you want more information about prior to going please go here: http://www.gatewaypeacegarden.com/visiting-the-garden/

The Burney Falls was called the "8th natural wonder of the world" by President Teddy Roosevelt. It's located roughly 50 miles south of Mt. Shasta and is truly a breathtaking sight. Still used as a sacred worship area for Pit River Tribe (Ilamwi, Atsugei, and Achumawi bands), these falls are full of water year round and originates from a forced reservoir rising from the inside of the mountain. This is absolutely stunning and I suggest you take the "Falls Loop" trail to get a beautiful picture of its magnificence. Don't forget to go to the Visitor Center and the General Store while you're there. :)

Enjoy!
