Taipei, Taiwan: The 'taste' in 10 hours

by Shasta Paravati June. 01, 2019 385 views

I've totally slept on the vastness of Taipei. I said "I don't think they'll be much to see in a few hours"... WRONG. My friend and I have already planned our sights for a return... in 2020 most likely. Best way to see this City in one day? Purchase a metro day pass and have a blast getting lost. This is what we did when we missed the Hop on Hop Off bus. That was our best 'missed connection' of the trip. Enjoy!

What's not to love about Sanrio? I loved these toys and knick-knacks as a child. Image taking the plane to and from Bali - so much fun.

MTR - is absolutely the best I've been on anywhere in the world - to date.

Main building of War Memorial. Inside you can learn all about the establishment of the Republic of China, Taiwan. Plus there are many art exhibits that are stunning as well.

Main square - reminded me of Tiananmen Square in Beijing (dare I say that???)

Yes, this is an inflatable tank (see below) with a man standing in front of it. Unfortunately, the plaque had no English translation to explain the purpose of this display. Therefore, I have my own personal idea of what this represents but not factual support for it.

Yes, I took a picture of my roasted plum bubble tea... I sure did. :)

I'm telling you, we were so bummed we only had a few hours on this layover. Next time, it will be a few DAYS. :)
