The Little Faces of Bandung, Indonesia

So last week I'd gone to Jakarta for work and on one of the days we had a field trip to Bandung, which was a 3-hrs drive from the city. Whilst the rest went shopping I took my camera and ventured out to the streets. There were kids begging for loose change but really, they're not in it for the money. Sure they'll come running to you begging for spares and stuff but the sad fact is that they don't even get to keep any of the hard chips you hand over to them.

A tip I learnt is to stash a handful of those chupa-chup lollies into your bag and trade it for a picture or two and I bet these gorgeous kids will gladly freeze a couple of sec for you. :)

Such beautiful faces! It's so sad that they have to grow in such unfortunate circumstances.
Thanks for sharing this story and these wonderful portraits!
