I suppose one can not hope to find the statues of leaders like Lenin in many cities/countries now. Statues of Lennin and other Communist leaders in Kolkata occupying the pride of place should come as no surprise considering that the State of West Bengal ( of which Kolkata is the Cpaital) has been ruled by a Communist government for the last more than 32 years.

Kolkata oozes with old world charm. Old trams like these still run in Kolkata-it may be the only city in India where trams are running now.

Where else can you find goats finding their way on the tracks meant for trams?
