Pictures on the ferry, train, and on foot from Stromboli to the hostel in Catania. Not as much variety, but some fun with a few minor filter tricks. Bella! Sigh. So beautiful. *lump in throat* I think I may need to make this my desktop picture. Ciao, Stromboli. Reflection. My first view of Sicilia! Sassy traveler. Saviour. :) Window shot from the train. u Liotru, or the Fontana dell'Elefante: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catania [en.wikipedia.org] In short, an elephant carved out of lava. A smiling elephant, no less. Anybody have a peanut? (Hats off to Fezzik.) A fountain in the same piazza as the elephant. We were rushing to the hostel, so I didn't get a chance to stop and see if there were any decorative plaques explaining, in Italian, its history. Not that it would have helped if it was in Italian, but I could have at least typed the name here and acted like I knew what I was talking about. Joseph during Happy Hour. :) Fred, also during Happy Hour. We had not yet discovered that he was a robot. He looks so innocent here. Saviour, sadly out of focus and with color balance issues, saved through the grace of black and white and sharpness filters. Oh so artsy! Ruins of the amphitheatre at night.
