Amalfi and Sorrento, part 1.

I took a “mini-cruise” along the Amalfi coast on Saturday. We stopped at Cápri to go swimming off the boat, then headed on south. We each had the choice to get off at Positano for 3 hours or Amalfi for 2. I opted for Positano. After all, I'd just heard from Rick Steves about custom-made sandals in Positano, woot! ;)

So, yeah, I went and had a pair of sandals made. Ima have to get some padding for them, but they are mighty cute. Flowers cost extra, though, I tell you what! Oh, and I put them on and realized I just HAD to get a skirt to match (geezo, when did I get so girly?), so I went up the street and bought one for a ridiculous price. Along the way, I realized the toe loop was a little loose on one, so I went back and Mr. Les Chic (I didn't get his name) fixed it for me. So cool!

The final few pics of the day are on the next page. :)

View of Vesuvius from the bus.

Another view. As we traveled around, was pretty easy to see the current cone vs. the two “peaks” seen from Naples. The other peak is really the former slope of the volcano, just an edge of a crater. Must been seen from above to really appreciate it.

The opposite view from what we usually see from Naples. The current cone is on the left, the aforementioned “peak” is on the right. This view is from Castellammare di Stabia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castellammare_di_Stabia), [en.wikipedia.org] where we caught the boat.

The Minnow. Well… it was really for an 11 hour tour, so, not really.

Deck chairs and looming volcano. :D

Leaving Castellammare.

This was from Sorrento. Made our boat feel wee. Mostly I took the picture because of that cool Lego opening in the back. There were people standing there, diving off it. Neat!
