Nuit Blanche 2010

My backlog of photos just keeping getting BIGGER! For the next while I'm going to attempt to post as many events as I can to get through it.

This year's Nuit Blanche [scotiabanknuitblanche.ca], an all-night art thing, was special to me because, because after years of going as a spectator, I was finally involved in a project of my own.

I was part of a crew that did live newscasts, all night, of the impending fun and chaos that happens every year. There were a few groundbreaking firsts in the project, including new ways to transmit HD live streaming over large areas , and multi-streaming based on Microsoft's Silverlight plug in.

It was a long night, the shifts were cold, and I ran everywhere, but having your work show up live at Yonge-Dundas Square, along with the graphics you toiled for days at, is something pretty cool.

Taking a rare break to look at a piece of…erm..I'm not sure what this is actually

Running back to Master Control- there's the specially programmed streaming master

The rest of master control- the graphics and director, and media in the back!

Yonge Dundas was CRAZY NUTS around 12 am

Mad chaos
