B&W odds and ends

I just picked up another Canon Rebel 2000 for very cheap off of craigslist because I'm hoping to start getting back into a little more black and white film photography. Here are some random pics from the first roll I fired off. I haven't quite gotten used to the Rebel's center-weighted light meter yet, and I feel like I have quite a bit to learn about the nature of b&w film to know best how to exploit it for various effects…

I'm staring up telephone poles again which the neighbors are probably talking about.

Dried leaves.

Fortune cookies. I don't know why there is such little contrast in this picture, but I'm pretty bummed out by that fact.

Guitar bridge. Again, not too happy with the lack of contrast.

Going for a walk with my dad.

very nice b/w pic s!I have a rebel 2000 I really liked it.... but have not used it since I got my Xti.
