About Joe's Blog
Sometimes I have an idea of a photograph and will begin planning and assessing the best method to use in order to capture the scene. I'll arrive on site, take another mental survey of the area, setup my equipment and get ready to shoot. Then, out of nowhere something moves into MY picture frame that I didn't plan for ... two guys in a boat, a couple, etc. My knee-jerk reaction is one of "now the photograph is ruined and I will not get the shot I wanted." However, without fail, when I step back from this attitude and look at the situation with open eyes, an open mind, and an open heart ... I see that God has just orchestrated a scene more beautiful than what I imagined.
Middle Tennessee is where I live with my beautiful wife and two daughters, who continue to teach me much each day that I'm willing to learn! I enjoy photography (of course!), fishing, hunting, card playing (Rook anyone?), time with friends and family, and a fast drive (no I don't have one). I am truly blessed to experience God's creation through the lens of a camera.
I joined this blog on January 1st (2009) to start a Project 365. I'm having a blast sharing my photos, seeing the world through your eyes, and learning from you all! My camera of choice is a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi.
I am a Christian. My favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:5-6
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
