Let there be light…a tad much in some:) The new flash for my Nikon arrived today. I'm excited to see what it can do for indoor shots and even fill in outdoor too. Here's a few I took messing around tonight.

I've found one of the best (and cheapest) items in my kit bag is cigarette paper. Moisten the glued end and let it hang over the flash unit (I recommend this for compacts and pop-ups). For separate flash units, I recommend a Sto-fen, which I find overpriced for a piece of plastic, but it does the same thing as the paper only better.

The Sto-fen should be used only when you can't bounce the flash off the back wall or ceiling (which causes awful shadows anyway). Enjoy your new flash unit.
