They're a nuisance. God help you if you're walking about with a package of edible items - for then you're likely to be attacked aggressively.
No less a person than Kipling was heard complaining about them back in the late 1800s!

I got attacked by monkeys for a bag of eggs in the jungle once. And then again for some pineapple. And then again for some booze. I am glad monkeys don't live in my neighborhood!

Seagulls and pigeons do gross me out, but they're pretty harmless. Sure, they can nip, but they generally stay far enough away.

Shanna, you're joking! Somebody's spending time studying these pesky creatures?? I spent a pleasurable hour taking pot-shots at the monkeys with a friend's air-gun; luckily for them, I'm a really bad shot!

Cookie, these creatures are not cute. They can be rabid & thrrefore, dangerous. Sea-gulls don't bite or scratch.

funny how we all seem to have different annoying animals. At least these look cute as opposed to our flying rats.

If I remember correctly some of those monkeys are big, too! Intimidating. Hi Mom_Curry!

So much prettier than seagulls, though, which are known to attack for food here.
