Two sights I saw today...

Sad & funny.
The man you see in the first picture is a "Khan''. Now this is actually an honorific. But in Shimla, it is used as a nomenclature for Kashmiri men (usually Muslim) who ferry heavy stuff around. ‘'Stuff’' can be anything (as you can seee in the picture) from a dining table to a cupboard, washing machine or a double-bed. These men have been doing this work since Shimla came into existence some 200 years ago. I'm not proud of this aspect of our town…
The second picture shows a fortune-teller who'd evidently revealed something not-so-pleasant to his client. Their expressions were so telling!

Fortune tellers never say true. They don`t know future.

Top one reminds me of the porters at Agra rail station, how they stack all this luggage on their heads.

Your stuff is wonderful - really marvelous shots of people.

The man in the first pic reminds me of the porters on Mt. Killimanjaro. They carry unbelievable loads on their back and hike up and down the mountain in flip-flops. The client in the second pic definately wants a second opinion. Great shots!
