From a railway carriage #1

Travelling by train in India can be great fun, provided you are carrying an open mind and a sense of humour along on the journey.

A.H. Wheeler is a chain of book-stalls you'll notice all over India.

One person sets out to travel, six come to see him off! This is a favourite national sport - seeing people off on rail journeys.

A signalling cabin.

Wildlife on the railway tracks.

Did you have a weepy Mom, an Dad loaded with advice, uncles with food, aunts with flowers and several giggly cousins?

I love train journeys in India - they're so, so different from anything one would experience in the UK.

Fantastic! Now I don't have to spend 20 hours on airplanes.
